What the press say…

Tom Aikens at Somerset House

“Michelin-starred chef Tom Aikens has joined forces with Compass Group to launch two restaurants at iconic London venue Somerset House this summer. The chef will take over the existing Admiralty Restaurant and River Terrace Café at the 18th century building and relaunch them as Tom’s Kitchen and Tom’s Terrace respectively.”
Caterer & Hotelkeeper

“No longer is the gourmet genius of Michelin-starred chef Tom Aikens reserved for the Chelsea set. On Thursday, the head honcho of the celebrated Tom’s Kitchen brings his European-influenced British fare to the Strand, with the launch of the first of two new restaurants at Somerset House. The much-loved River Terrace Café will be transformed into Tom’s Terrace for its reopening, boasting fabulous al fresco dining under a stunning, ultramodern canopy.”
Harper’s Bazaar

“After a summer catering to the bar terrace at Somerset House, Tom Aikens has moved inside, opening a restaurant and deli. Overall, it’s unpretentious, well-executed fare.”
The Guardian

“I was rather lucky to be invited along to sample the menu from Tom’s Terrace, which has replaced the River Terrace Café with a rather impressive looking, red lit canopy…. We met Tom Aikens who introduced the idea of the restaurant and also regaled us with his epic marathon running tales and shock-love of Pepperami….”

Michel Roux Jnr and Roux at the Pembury

“Located in master chef Michel Roux’s Roux at Parliament Square restaurant in Westminster, this beautifully refurbished bar offers MPs and punters alike a classy conceptual cocktail menu ideal for whiling away an afternoon or evening. The “tasting” cocktail menu is divided into Hors d’oeuvres, Plats principaux and Déserts – progress from one end to another for a well-balanced liquid diet. Standout starters, mains and puddings include the Three Citrus Ricky (Ketel One citreon, Fino sherry, yuzu, lemon, pineapple, soda), the Penultimate Word (Don Julio Blanco, green chartreuse, Talisker, coridander, lime) and the Berry Stinger (port, crème de framboise, crème de cassis, mint). For edible sustenance, there’s a nibbles-paired cocktail flight menu in the works.”

“Cocktails are the main attraction at Masterchef star Michel Roux Jnr’s Westminster bar. Don’t miss the Don Julio Blanco-infused Penultimate Word.”

Gary Rhodes and Vertigo42

“Situated at the top of the City of London’s tallest building, this champagne bar offers 360-degree views of the City below, stocks 39 types of bubbly and has an impressive selection of bellini cocktails – try the lychee and hazelnut one.”

“We’re bubbling over with excitement for the launch of Vertigo 42’s ‘Champagnes of Autumn Cocktail Collection’. The bar sits at almost 600 feet above the ground, meaning you’ll get some spectacular views as you sip on one of five amazing seasonal cocktails.”

“Champagne with a view is what Vertigo42 offers customers who shoot up the ear-popping lift to the top of Tower42. But for those who are bored of plain old bubbly, the bar has introduced an autumn bellini menu, created by Vertigo 42’s mixologist. So that’s five good reasons to visit”.
